Sheriff Chris Curry;

Sir, I have read the articles that state you are adiment against having a methadone treatment center in your county. May I point out sir that as a law enforcement officer this could do nothing but help your already rising arrest record for drug related crime in Shelby county.

It has been proven time and time again that once a person becomes a patient involved in treatment his or her criminal activity ceases. Many studies show that Methadone treatment is the gold standard when it comes to opiod addiction.

It is my understanding that there are 4 treatment centers in a county next to yours that are full. This certainly shows the need for additional treatment, who’s byproduct would be a drastic reduction in criminal activity.I have seen this to be true in many patients that I have worked with.In conclution, I would ask you to reconsider your stance on this subject and give these people a chance at recovery and life.
